If you’re having problems with your Roku or plan to return or give it away, you may want to perform a factory reset. By doing a Roku factory reset, you will be able to unlink your device from your Roku account. Here are two ways to Factory Reset Roku Device.

How to Reset Your Roku Device Via Settings

Roku reset with remote: Pressing the Home button on your remote will reset your Roku device. Then, click to Settings > System > Advanced System Settings. Choose Reset, then input the Roku reset code that appears on your screen. Finally, choose OK and wait for your Roku device to restart before proceeding further.

1. Hit the Home button on your Roku remote.

2. Now go to Settings. Your remote’s left button will bring up this menu in your home screen’s sidebar. And hit the up directional button on your Roku remote to access the Settings menu.

3. Afterward, choose System. You can either hit the OK button on your remote or the right directional button.

4. Next, go to Advanced system settings.

Note: Alternatively, you can select Reset network connection if your Roku device is experiencing trouble connecting to the internet. You do not need to go through the process of setting up your gadget from scratch.

5. Next, choose Factory reset. Then you’ll see a code listed in the bottom-right corner of your screen.

6. Enter the code on your screen and choose OK.

7. Finally, choose Start factory reset. Doing this will instantly turn your Roku off and back on again. You’ll see the Roku logo bouncing on your screen once the device restarts.

When you reset your Roku device, you’ll have to set it up all over again.

How to Restart a Roku Device Using the Reset Button

The back or bottom of the Roku device has a physical reset button. A pinhole button or a tactile button, depending on your preference, is what it is. Long-pressing this button will perform a factory reset on these devices.

1. Firstly, Switch on your Roku.

2. Now, find the reset button. You’ll generally find this on the back or bottom of the device.

Note: If your Roku device has a pinhole button, you’ll need something long and thin, like a paperclip, to be able to press it.

3. Press & hold the reset button for about 10 seconds.

4. At last, wait for your Roku device to restart. On most Roku devices, you’ll see an indicator light start to blink rapidly once the device is resetting.
