Facebook Name Policy

So, You can’t just change your name to anything. You need to follow the rules, and Facebook has defined them clearly what you can and can’t include in your name. Well, The number one rule is that you can’t choose a name that isn’t yours. Don’t pretend to be someone else because if you are caught, or someone complains, your profile will be deactivated without intimation. Facebook blocked over 4.5 billion accounts in the first nine months of 2020 alone. Lots of them were bots, but many were fake accounts too.

Some other rules:

Facebook has a list of valid and appropriate identity cards but can differ somewhat according to your nationality country. Most of us have a driver’s license or a birth certificate at least. Both are real. Both are valid.

If you have made it in the last 60 days or less, or if you have changed it regularly, you cannot change your Facebook name. If Facebook has asked you to confirm your identity and has failed to send one, you cannot change your name.

And this is it. And this is it. On Facebook, you are willing to change your name. Those laws, who knew!

On your Facebook profile, I’ll recommend you insert your legal name. The name of your stage or nickname may be used, but this should be your middle name or other names. If you’re an artist, instead of a profile, you can create a Facebook page, so things work differently. The naming policy on Facebook pages is not the same for brands, corporations and government officials.
